For the first post of this blog I want to make a little introduction to RED HAT ENTERPRISE LINUX or RHEL. When I’ll have more time I will post more tutorials about it =) .
So what is Red Hat Enterprise Linux? According to Wikipedia is a Linux-based operating system developed by Red Hat and targeted toward the commercial market. While Red Hat uses strict trademark rules to restrict free re-distribution of their officially supported versions of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat freely provides the source code for the distribution's software > FEDORA project.
Because of the commercial purpose Red Hat maintains a regular update and support policy ( complete life cycle on redhat web page), usually 10 -13 years (extended support). I added a chart with the released updates.
That's all for today.
